Some Saguaros need support when newly planted and some need support if they are starting to lean. They don’t have deep roots and do get heavy weighing up to several tons when fully grown. You can read more about them on my post Tu-Na Travels: I Like the Saguaro Cactus. https://tunaquilts.wordpress.com/2017/03/01/tu-na-travels-i-like-the-saguaro-cactus/.
That’s a good reminder for us, we all need support and encouragement about this time of year, when things are so busy. I so enjoy this online community of quilters! Enjoy your day, Karen! Soak up some sun for me!
I must be dense. I didn’t even see the supports until I read one of the replies. Geez! I’ve been on a long day knitting marathon. When I was recently in Albuquerque, my 11 year old grandson asked if I remember making hats for each his brother and him. They have seen pictures of when they were in the NICU. I have almost finished a hat for the 6 year old and then on to start a larger hat. Grandma Sudie needs to respond to the hint and also get them in the mail. I don’t know how I missed the cactus. I’ve been busy and have missed your posts. Hopefully, I’ll get back to them.
I know nothing about growing cacti…is the support there because it was recently planted and needs to get established?
