Tu-Na Quilts: Where Flowers Bloom Blog Hop Starts Monday

Carla at Creatin’ in the Sticks is hosting a most delightful blog hop starting on Monday.

Just in case you can’t find any flowers where you are, you might like to check out what’s bloomin’ on the blogs below starting on Monday. While you’re waiting, I thought you might like to see what was blooming when we made our annual migration north about three weeks ago.

This massive giant grows beside a meeting room in our village. It has many arms. I snapped this pic on our way out of our village.

It was very beautiful.

What I Learned Today:

  1. A houseful of company makes for a busy weekend with little time to sew.
  2. I hope my flower project is in “full bloom” in time for my day on the hop.
  3. I have two posts that will be publishing on Tuesday within minutes of each other: this flower one and the Fall Into a QAL third block. It will be a busy day for my readers, too.

Question: Do you grow your own flowers or buy them? Tu-Na Helper does his best to grow flowers: daylilies, peonies, poppies, iris, and daisies, marigolds, but the deer often have dined before we could enjoy them. So far they have left the peonies alone.

Thanks for stopping by and do come again.

Maybe you should call them “farewell flowers” that are being waved to you as you head back to the lovely Midwest. I don’t grow my own, I buy them and put them in nicer planters. We just did that today, before all the rain came. Phew.

I am not a gardener, but my husband plants a few flowers every year. Where we live there is an association that takes care of most of the vegetation, so there is little room for us to expand on that. I think your photos are beautiful. Cacti are certainly fascinating plants, aren’t they?

Things are mixed here. I grow in pots because the ground is so bad and swamp grass is indigenous to this area. Also water is expensive. The annuals are usually purchased but I do plant some seeds every year and do the happy dance when the miracle of the little green sheets pops up through the ground. Some of those seeds have been blessing me with flowers for several years. I sometimes grab the seeds as they are drying on the plants and spread them in other areas. Not so great with early spring flowers though.

    Hi Karen,
Those cacti just amaze me! Those flowers you shared today remind me of daisies. Who knew they would bloom so late and in those hot temperatures. Very cool, and I will be reading your TWO posts tomorrow! Happy Monday! ~smile~ Roseanne
