Starting bright and early in the morning (Monday), Tu-Na Helper and I (well maybe only I) will be singing:

We’ll be starting in Winona and working our way around the state. If you happen to see us out and about, do stop and say hi. We’d enjoy talking with you.
I’ll be searching for some of this year’s Quilt MN Shop Hop fabrics.
This will be the one I plan to buy first.
And then there’s some swans that just might make their way into my car.
This year’s fabric is designed by Teresa Magnuson for Clothworks.
But I’m not so sure about the deer. Every time I look at them I am reminded that they like to eat my flowers and apples and other garden produce.
But I’ll keep an open mind until I see the fabric.

What I Learned Today:
- Little baby feet are so precious and sweet.
- Do not eat supper outside on a patio after 8; it gets cold in Minnesota.
- Tu-Na Helper will be easy to spot; he’s probably the only guy in the fabric shop wearing a Hawaiian shirt.
Question: What do you do when you travel by car? Do you sit and watch the countryside or do you sleep or do you bring along a project to stitch? Usually I enjoy seeing the country but this time I brought with an EPP project. I’ve already sewn for about a thousand miles and I’m enjoying it.

Tu-Na Quilts, Travels, and Eats 
I did the Twin Cities part of the hop on Friday on the bus. Eight shops in one day. I’m exhausted! That poppy print is the most popular one, so you may have a bit of trouble finding it. Many people pre-ordered the fabrics, so some shops are out or nearly out of a few fabrics. I didn’t care for the skunk fabric but I liked the lilies of the valley. Have a fun, safe trip.

I love seeing your travels Karen, I see so many fabrics not available in the UK, at least where I shop anyhow. I love seeing the countryside in the UK when I travel. Northeast England is so beautiful, especially Northumberland with its green fields, quaint villages and so many castles including Alnwick castle where Harry Potterwas filmed. it well be interesting to see what shops you hit and where they are. Have fun! – sometimes I try to hand piece but give up cuz the roads are too bumpy usually, I have tried to do binding and it works ok and I crochet

I like that deer fabric. I think it needs to come home with you. We LOVE road trips. I generally have a knitting project with me so I can knit and enjoy the countryside at the same time,

I generally take peeks at the countryside as I work on a project. The last couple of years I have had EPP projects to work on. Right now I am on row 2 of what will be a queen sized quilt of 6 pointed stars and hexagons. The stars are all made and the hexagons are ready, but it takes a long time to go across the row:) I have mixed feelings about the deer fabric. Deer can come from no where and jump in front of the car/van coming partially into said van coming near to killing the passenger (me). The police said the last time he had seen an accident like ours, the passenger had died. So deer are not my favorite creatures on this earth.

Karen, I hope you and your helper are having a wonderful start to your trip. Let me know when you’ll be at Quilt Cove in Eagan. But don’t look for poppies there–the first bus early Friday morning cleaned us out. I like to crochet, embroider or hand piece on road trips, plus look out the window and enjoy the sights.

Can’t wait to read about your shop hop adventure, Karen! I hope you & Tuna Helper have a great time! Good luck finding your poppies; it sounds like they are a hot commodity. I saw the fabrics online, the lily of the valley were my favorite. I like to hand stitch in the car, my favorite is binding.

What fun you will have in Minnesota…..I love the poppys….I tried doing embroidery while being a passenger on long trips but I rather enjoy the countryside and talk to my husband who likes to do all the driving.

Although it is a catchy tune, I am afraid it can be extremely dangerous. I am taking a break from fabric shopping, after the (up to 70% off) sale at Connecting Threads did a number on my budget.
